Eastern white pines live bountifully across the swath of the United States between Maine and Florida. The needles are edible raw or for use in tea. Vitamin C degrades from heat, but the content in this is high enough that you'll still reap benefits if you prefer a hot tea. The needles are beneficial for the lungs, clearing any infections or unwanted buildup. You can also add the needles to bath salts, to help pique your circulatory system. They have been used to treat scurvy.

The whorled branching makes them easy to climb, and I speak of this with experience from the two in the yard I grew up with. The sap didn't end up deterring me too much, though it was present. There are sappier pines. If you extract and harden the sap, you can treat cuts, splinters, sores, boils, or sore muscles. If you let the pine cones dry, the edible nuts from within them can drop out. Roast these or enjoy them raw.

Always harvest sustainably, leaving some needles on twigs (which you can also include in tea), so that it can grow back again. This is not intended to be medical advice, but rather suggestions to look into further for potential improvements to your health.
