As my friend and I ventured home from a memorable weekend of contra dancing in Morgantown, West Virginia, we looked to the sky to see a whale shaped cloud. The Sun was peeking out, beginning its relative journey down, bringing out the colors of evening behind the gentle giant.

This trip was my first experience with contra dancing, so this painting very much reminds me of that time, wrapping my mind around all the connections made.

Speaking of connections, whales can represent the feeling of being one with nature and may bring about feelings of belonging to the greater whole. Whales share in these feelings of harmony, wisdom, and longevity.
