I had heard the snake is often referenced to Ayahuasca, thinking it helps by shedding old skins or layers of ourselves we've outgrown.  This visual appeared a few weeks prior to an upcoming medicinal ceremony.  

The facilitator described this association from some of his personal experiences as the liquid traveled down from his throat, feeling physically like a snake, making sure to clear out all stuck energy along the way.

The whole scene, including the "red-striped smooth snake," references Madagascar.  The elusive ombre snake, Liophidium pattoni, was the most attractive I could find while serpent searching (from the comfort of home 😅), and the idea of expanding to explore distant lands and culture gave a boost of excitement creatively.

Shedding can happen in many ways.  During this first journey, mine involved tears. Tears for a release of old pains stemmed from conditioning, and in awe and overwhelming gratitude for the light that has been presenting itself after years of inner work.

The dancers in the painting show contagious joy, in contrast to the waterfall of tears.  Just as you do enough healing work, you know the tears are part of the sacred process of renewal.  There is much to celebrate.

Music played a big part in the journey.  We were guided and blessed with gifts from talented musicians, poems, and expressions of love and connection. I am beyond grateful for the experience created together by beautiful souls, Gaia, and all of the above.
